This is a small field research station I designed, where I think the key challenge is to use the space wisely. 500SF is a really small area for a group of 4, especially when we need to incorporate an ADA-compliant bathroom, an 80 SF storage room, four 50 SF individual areas, and an 8' long lab bench together. I think I tried my best to maximize the area available for each desk. In case of a lack of natural lights, I added ceiling lights to the building. I also added a small frosted window to the bathroom because I like some natural lights even in the bathroom. To make this building more like a research station, I also placed a lab fridge next to the lab bench. Overall, this is a really simple model to start with, and I believe that I can come up with better designs next time.
