Module 5

While designing my Engineering Quad extension, I had one focus in mind: designing a space that would foster student collaboration and creativity. The large windows provide ample natural light for studying, and the various maker spaces, study centers, and meeting spaces facilitate easy collaboration. While staying true to the materialistic features of the original building, the Phase 2 Extension was purposefully designed with a modern twist. Sleek, glass curves and contrasting angled roofs combine with the original white stucco walls and arches to keep the theme of the original project while encouraging innovation. Additional features of the building include multiple bathrooms, an elevator, a stairwell, and a first floor restaurant/cafe.
