I developed my proposed design with a few of the parameters from the Design Project Brief in mind. The first was that it should be a simple, wood-frame structure. One point in particular regarding this: “that can be built entirely by hand…” I kept with a simple rectangular design for this reason. Another parameter was the tight budget for the project, which again led to my including a simple shape, including the interior walls. Another parameter that guided my simple design was to incorporate sustainable principles and passive solar design features, so I added solar panels to the roof. Due to all of these parameters, I believe the proposed design meets the goals of being simple, sustainable, and effective.
