Should all buildings be modeled first using conceptual masses?

Larger projects with a unique form might require conceptual masses to model first. During the modeling phase, the designer can play around, create buildings beyond the limitations and find the most attractive form. However, while designing a small house, we can use the usual process of building walls and floors without using conceptual masses to model first.

Can you think of any examples of a real building around the world that most likely was created by exploring the form using conceptual mass models?

Tao Zhu Yin Yuan is a residential high-rise building in Taiwan. The tower was completed in 2018, and its height is 306 ft with 21 floors. It was likely created using conceptual mass models and developing the building form into a rare twisting building.

Core Pacific City is a shopping center in Taiwan. Since the structure was an L-shaped building connected to a sphere, the architect might use conceptual mass models to explore its building form.
