I have chosen the Jasper Ridge location for the exhibit space. I think the more flat ground will do better for the design I am imagining and I am a big fan of the potential for a lake view. The main thermal comfort to design for is heating which definitely makes sense. I would want to maximize masses for absorbing heat and PV space for running an HVAC system. After playing with the shape of the building, I found that extending the roof for the southern face had a significant impact on the amount of sunlight absorbed. I would now like to incorporate a sloped face for that! Surprisingly, the building orientation did not have a big effect on the efficiency but I think that may have been a bug. I have shown the settings that had the largest impact on energy savings and plan to design with those in mind.
