Goal 1: Reduce energy use

• Measure:  % reduction in source EUI from baseline
• Targets:
• From Architecture 2030 Challenge
• minimal acceptable: 90%
• EUI: 38 —> 4 (based on 35,000 sf Museum located in Stanford, CA - from zerotool.org)
• target: 100%
• EUI: 38 —> 0
• Strategies:
• Utilize passive strategies: solar heating + lighting, building orientation + geometry, window material properties (R value) + shading
• Active: Solar panels, photovoltaic cells

Goal 2: Reduce water use

• Measure:  LEED Water Efficiency point scale
• Targets:
• minimal acceptable: 5 points (35% reduction indoor water use from WE prereq baseline)
• target: 8 points (50% reduction indoor water use from WE prereq baseline)
• Strategies:
• Greywater reuse
• Low-flow fixtures

Goal 3: Sustainable materials

• Measure: % reduction embodied carbon
• Targets:
• From Architecture 2030 Embodied Carbon Challenge
• minimal acceptable: 45%
• target: 60%
