Baseline case EUI:
Building Envelope Design Decisions:
- Window glass east: Triple Low E
- Window glass west: Triple Low E
- Window glass north: Triple Low E
- Wall construction: R38 Wood to R13 Wood
- WWR east: 30-40%
- WWR north: <40%
- Window shades east: 1/2 to 2/3 height
- Window shades west: 1/2 to 2/3 height
With these settings for the building envelope, the EUI decreases by about 9 kBtu/ft^2/yr, achieving the goal of being below 54 kBtu/ft^2/yr.
Building Envelope + Power & Lighting Design Decisions:
- Plug load efficiency: 0.6 W/sf
- Lighting efficiency: 0.3 W/sf
- Daylighting & occupancy controls: Daylighting & occupancy controls
With these settings the EUI decreases by about 20 kBtu/ft^2/yr, resulting in an EUI of 31.5 kBtu/ft^2/yr. This is the lowest value that could be achieved with the addition of power and lighting decisions.
PV Panel Design Decisions:
- Panel efficiency: 20.4%
- Surface coverage: 90%
- Payback limit: 20 years
With these settings the EUI decreases by about 40 kBtu/ft^2/yr, resulting in an EUI of -10.3 kBtu/ft^2/yr. This is the lowest value that could be achieved with the addition of PV panel decisions.
