Buildings are like a thick protective layer meant to keep out the cold, heat, and weather - a shelter for the little humans living inside. This reminds me of tree bark. It acts as the tree’s protection from the outside. It maintains balanced moisture levels, insulates against temperature, and keeps insects out.

The human body is pretty sensitive and well attuned because of our senses like sight, hearing, touch, etc. I like to think that buildings and technology have come a long way to maybe have senses of their own. For example, there is now technology that allows lighting to be sensitive and reactive to presence.
