Biological systems can be compared to building systems in several ways. Hallways in buildings that connect different rooms and spaces are analogous to veins in a biological system, which connect different areas of the organism. Additionally, the skin, eyes, and nose can be compared to sensor systems in a building that control the heating and cooling of a space. The skin can also be compared to the facade of a building, since they both operate as the exterior and protect the organism/building.
