Hi everyone, my name is Michaella (she/her) and I’m a first year SDC graduate student. I studied Architecture and Environmental Studies at Wellesley College in Massachusetts, and grew up in Portland, OR for most of my life. In terms of industry experience, I’ve conducted research in the field of urban studies/planning on the impacts of the built environment on public health and equitable resilience. I also spent a year as an M.Arch at the GSD before pivoting to focus more on sustainability within the built environment. I have experience with CAD (Rhino, AutoCAD) and physical model making, but have not ventured into the world of Revit and BIM yet. I’m looking forward to getting exposure and better understanding how BIM as a tool helps integrate and articulate a variety of building systems. I’m also looking forward to the opportunity to develop a public-oriented, institutional design concept throughout the course of the quarter and see everyone’s projects :)
