To maintain a feeling of openness in the main area of the building (near the stairway where the chairs are, away from the offices), I used longer spans. In the more segmented section of the building where the office is, I used smaller spans given that there is less aesthetic/experience value from having less structural elements.

I avoided poorly placed structural elements for the most part. However it seems that my beam systems were potentially placed too low. I’m not certain that they should be as visible as they are.
