Design Strategy

I ensured that no floor openings such as elevators and atriums were accidentally covered, preserving accessibility and safety. Additionally, I verified that no columns obstructed hallways or rooms, maintaining optimal circulation and space utilization throughout the building. By choosing a steel-frame system, I aimed to meet the designer's intent by creating larger column-free areas and achieving a modern aesthetic for the building's layout and appearance.

Reason for Choosing Strength Over Wood:

I chose strength over wood due to steel's superior structural properties, including higher strength and durability. Steel framing allows for longer beam spans, reducing the need for intermediate support columns and maximizing usable space. Additionally, steel offers greater resistance to environmental factors and potential impacts, ensuring the longevity and stability of the structure.
