Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is located in Boston, Massachusetts. I had a couple of visits there when I was doing my undergrad at Northeastern University. I like this museum because it is not only a collection of art from Europe, America, and Asia, including paintings, and sculptures. It itself is a work of art. The museum is built based on a 15th-century Venetian-style palace with an interior garden yard. Different plants and flowers are grown inside the garden in different seasons which provides a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere.
Unlike any other traditional museums, the gardeners take great care of the interior garden yard and arrange the collection in a highly individual way, mixing different times, regions, and styles. It is more like a private palace than a museum to the public. All the rooms are well-decorated and provide viewers with a more intimate and personal viewing experience.
Epcot - Walt Disney World
Although it is treated as a theme park of Disney World, I personally see Epcot as more like an exhibition of cultures around the world and interesting Disney elements.
There are two distinct areas inside Epcot, the Future World and the World Showcase. the Future World is an exhibition of modern technologies and innovation. With many exciting attractions and rides like Spaceship, Test Truck, and Soarin around Cali, the Future World shows people what the future is like. All the technology elements are designed that put people through a time machine and let them really live in the possibilities of the future.
I especially like the second area, World Showcases. this area consists of a collection that represents 11 countries around the world. Each pavilion has architecture, landscapes, shops, and restaurants that represent the culture of those countries and nations. Inside each pavilion, you will have a feeling as if you are walking on the street of the country. The shops and restaurants sell all sorts of things and foods that can only be seen in that specific country. Although there exist some level of stereotypes in some of the pavilions. The World Showcases overall is a great educational and cultural exhibition that opens up people’s vision.
Another reason that I love Epcot is the attractions. Test Trek gives people opportunities to design and drive their future-style vehicles. Guardians of the Galaxy brings people into space and the Marvel Universe to travel through galaxies. Soarin’ Around California takes people on a flight and shows how beautiful California looks over the horizon. The Epcot Forever fireworks show ends the day by providing people with a marvelous visual feast. Despite Epcot being too big and tiring to go through all the exhibitions and attractions, it is my favorite park of Walt Disney World.
