In discussing what makes an exhibition space great, I'd like to mention two examples: the exhibition space I am currently designing for my company's projects and products, and the Sea World Culture and Art Center in Shenzhen.
For the exhibition space I'm designing, one key feature I'm focusing on is the use of light. By manipulating lighting, we can create areas that are either bright or dim, guiding visitors' attention and telling a story as they move through the space. I believe this contrast in lighting can be very effective in controlling the flow and focus within the exhibition.
Another aspect I find important is the concept of open space. I prefer designs where visitors can move freely and explore the parts of the exhibition that interest them the most. While it's crucial to design a path that narrates a story, it's equally important to allow visitors the freedom to be drawn naturally towards what catches their eye.
As for the Sea World Culture and Art Center in Shenzhen, this space not only includes the features I've mentioned above but also beautifully integrates with its natural surroundings. I think it's important for an exhibition space to consider both its interior and exterior, as the exterior can significantly influence first impressions. A great location can also enhance visitors' enthusiasm to explore the interior of the space.
In summary, the effective use of lighting to guide and engage visitors, the freedom of movement in an open space, and a harmonious integration with the surrounding environment are key features that I believe make these exhibition spaces stand out.
