The overall HVAC strategy will be a split system. Using the Climate Consultant 6, the design can use the following to achieve a high level of comfort:
- Cooling and Dehumidification - through HVAC system
- Dehumidification - through HVAC system
- Sun Shading of Windows - through mullions
The major challenge of the preliminary HVAC design is how the air cooling systems are connected from one floor to another.
Given the project is located in the Philippines with high humidity and outside temperature, the building will have a cooling system.

Conclusion: This is amazing! These calculated cooling and heating loads can be used to quantify the energy demand and the long-term performance of this building. This can also be used to communicate to the clients about the required specification for cooling equipment necessary for the building. Good thing that I got the chance to try this! As you may have noticed, the office design, located in a very hot and humid country, will highly rely on cooling, instead of heating.
