The human body and structures share a multiplicity of similarities and characteristics. The first thing that comes to mind is the idea that each space or biological characteristic serves a unique yet crucial purpose. The purposes of our biological systems are pretty straight forward whereas the purposes of built environments are more fluid, unscientific, and intangible. However, each space is crucial to the functionality and desired purpose of a structure just as each biological system is crucial to our functionality. I found this more broad connection between building and biological systems to more aptly tackle the essence of architectural design and the building process.
