The Design Decision I Studies
I decided to focus on the sustainability design decision and used the Building Form Solar Analysis example as a base, so that I could to compare the values of solar insolation, total cost of the building, number of shading panels, and a heat loss/gain ratio (surf/vol) in a rotating tower structure. I specifically wanted to maximize the solar insolation/potential, minimize the heat loss and gain, minimize the total cost of the structure, and minimize the number of shading panels (u and v panels) needed for the structure, assuming that they are a part of the inherent design.
The dynamic inputs I used were, the top height, the middle and top radiuses, and the middle rotation of the structure.
