Description

For this assignment, I wanted to focus on the aspects of the brief that wanted to minimize surface area and maximize solar potential. In order to do that, I created nodes that were designed to (1) compare the cumulative insolation to the surface area, returning a ratio of the former divided by the latter(greater insolation/smaller surface area equals a large ratio), and (2) return a highly estimated cost of a façade decked out in solar panels (used the current price of solar panel system, sqft per panel, installation cost, etc.). This ratio of the surface area to the insolation, however, was my focus going into the combined evaluation score. So I pretty much ranked everything low except for that factor. Then looking at all my results, I realized I didn't exactly have a maximum surface area to go off of, but if I was solely going off of the solar-surface ratio, I would recommend the 750ft height and 90° mid rotation, which has the greatest ratio, but if you have a max surface area greater than the one resulting from the recommendation, then I would suggest the lower heights, but keep that 90° rotation.
