My own tower took the form depicted above (below is another angle with the floors showing). I liked the curve geometry of the template models and after sketching a few forms of my own, I tried to best assemble a double twist construction piece. I was inspired by the Shanghai tower form and ended up creating a building that somewhat resembles a giant chess piece!

Above is the first variation on height for the provided building form (this one being the twisted triangular tower). I chose to flex the height between a range of 100ft and 400ft and so the image represented here is the 100ft starting height tower.

Next is the same Revit file but now depicting the maximum height tower of 400ft.

The first parameter I chose to flex was the value for “Top Side A.” This was the value for the top side length for the bottom most twisted structure (and the corresponding base length for the taller structure). I chose to vary this range from 100ft - 200ft, the above image showing the highest value of 200ft length. The initial tower I created reminded me of a chess piece and I wanted to see how I could push the limits of this form both in shape and construction feasibility - as a large midsection might prove tough or even impossible to construct in real life.

The second parameter I flexed was the top height. I used a similar code block to supply a range and then the same custom node “BuildingForm” to input and receive values for Gross Surface Area and Floor Area. Depicted above is one of the lower height range values of the set.
