I imported a conceptual mass element of parametric Tower - Twisting Rectangular Mass from the shared libraries.
I set the tower’s location as Zampa Lane, San Francisco for the future sun analysis applying to the building design.
The tower has the instance parameters that will be hold constant based on the base size. To be specific, the building top width is constraint by the building base width, and the building top depth is constraint by the building base depth, respectively divided by 1.6 of each.
Actual input base width is 220’, base depth is 200’, and height is 500’ to minimize the construction additional cost from constructing above 750’.
In total, 75 levels has generated to cover 500’ height of the building.
In the Dynamo, the twisted degree was set as a parameter so that the gross floor area, gross surface area, and gross volume can be calculated depending on the different twisted degree as below. The twisted value will be changed by 5 degree from 20 to 60.
To make excel report sheet, totally four output values are embedded in the custom node: number of trial, gross floor area, gross surface area, gross volume.
As a result, the nine trials, showing different result from different twisted angle degree, can be calculated. Each trial shows the gross floor area in the range from around 1,262,000 to 1,463,000 sqft.
