Aleksandra Vorozheikina

Hey! Nice to meet you!

My name is Aleksandra Vorozheikina (call me Sasha), and I am a first-year Master's student in Structural engineering. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering technology from Fairleigh Dickinson University last spring. Playing tennis for almost 18 years and having the desire to become an engineer like most of my family members, I caught a flight from Tambov, Russia all the way to NYC to become a Division 1 student-athlete at FDU. During my undergrad, I did not have a chance to have any industry experience (being an international student + studying during Covid did not help much), but I am looking forward to my structural engineering internship this summer.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring new places (hard to tell how many miles I have walked around Manhattan while studying there) and visiting museums and art galleries. I also try to stay active and like skiing, ice skating, hiking, learning how to play new sports, dancing, and, of course, playing tennis which is my biggest passion.

  • A little bit of my student-athlete experience 🎾

  • Museum of the Future (Dubai, UAE). I got a chance to see the most beautiful building on Earth (that's what they call it). Very inspiring for a structural engineer!

  • Meet my cat, Boris! Would be nice to show him Stanford campus.

Expectations and goals for this course:

Since I did not have much experience in Revit, which is important to know for the structural engineering field, I think this course would be a great opportunity to learn more about this software and get comfortable using it. I am interested in parametric design and the opportunities to be creative while working on the assignments. I am also looking forward to learning about optimization and how to use it in design. I am excited about this course and happy to meet everyone!
