About Me
Hi Everyone! I am a first year Master’s student working towards my degree in Sustainable Design and Construction, with an emphasis on Sustainable Urban Systems. I previously did my undergraduate studies in London, with a Mechanical Engineering with Finance degree. I was keen in the intersection between sustainability and technology, which explains why I pivoted to the program here at Stanford. My original plans were disrupted by Covid-19 and I deferred my Stanford program by 2 years - in this period of time, I was working on Singapore’s first integrated waste management facility as a project engineer.
Course expectations
As a project engineer, my job roles differed greatly - one of which was mainly stakeholder management e.g., work with my BIM engineer to update the 3D model accurately and champion discussions to resolve clashes. As I did not have the chance to do the design, I was hoping to learn more about the 3D model design features, so as to better understand the software and manage the design.
Fun Facts
I was in Korea for a trip and we went to Lotte World which is an amusement park. My friends and I didn’t have our phones because it was a pretty dynamic ride but we realized we were riding it with a Korean celebrity because there were cameras all over as we strapped down at our seats. So unfortunately, we didn’t have photos but it was still a pretty cool experience.
