Hi everyone! I am a first year graduate student pursuing an M.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering within the Sustainable Design and Construction program. I am coming from the east coast of the US where I did my undergrad in Environmental Engineering and worked for a couple years with DPR Construction building research labs and life science manufacturing spaces.

I love to hike with my dog, play tennis, explore local breweries and wineries, and play guitar.

Learning Goals

I am quite excited explore both how low carbon design techniques can show up in models and how BIM can be leveraged to design energy efficient, sustainable buildings to limit the amount of confusion, cost overruns, rework, and time associated with executing those projects.

For the course specifically, I am quite excited to dig more deeply into how the tools and concepts of parametric design can facilitate organized performance based design (specifically in the realm of energy efficiency and building decarbonization techniques). My personal goals for the course are as follow:

  • to get familiar with what kind of technology is out there
  • identify where I can fit this type of work into my future career in building decarbonization.
  • push myself to think outside of my current knowledge (from a construction management perspective)
  • understand how the parametric design tools and scripting within models can be used to facilitate data collection and generation to be used for not only optimization, but communication across disciplines and ultimately project delivery.
