Something about Me
Hello Everyone! My name is Jiahui (Duke) Qiu, and I'm from Beijing, China. Currently, I'm pursuing a Master's degree in Structural Engineering at Stanford University, and I completed my Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Tongji University in Shanghai, China.
I regard myself ‘unusual’ engineer: I love photography, all kinds of museums , movies, and etc. In my free time, I like city walks, running, and hiking. Few pics that i take during my LA trip:
Backup Experience
I'm constantly seeking ways to incorporate more data into structural engineering. My research focuses on predicting wind speeds during cyclones for super tall buildings, and I've taken courses in data analysis and machine learning at Stanford to enhance my skills in this area.
Course Interest
- In last quarter, I have take CEE282 & CEE222, which inspires me a lot for using the parametric modelling tools to make some really cool ideas. I see a lot of opportunities that we can use parametric things to support structural analysis and design. Therefore, in this class, i want to learn more about it.
- While I have prior experience using Revit, I am eager to broaden my horizons and explore the full capabilities of Dynamo and Grasshopper. I am confident that mastering these tools will greatly expand my skill set and enable me to create even more exceptional designs.
- I am excited to collaborate with my peers and share ideas. I firmly believe that by pooling our collective knowledge and creativity, we can achieve remarkable things. Together, let's explore the possibilities of parametric modelling and create something truly remarkable.
