- For 2 or More Units: Rise and Shine
- Part 1 : The paramaters include changing the curve mid point to make a greater or smaller curvature. The height and length can be altered as well as the number of panels. To get a better image, we can increase the number of panels (U and V parameters) to create more pixels. However, image is distorted if we do change the U and V parameters differently. The picture below is the entrance at Stanford. I did this to visually see the difference between the sky and grass colors.
- Part 2: The function I used was a sinusoidal function to create waves. The waves are controlled by a set of points that can be increased to create more waves. Amplitude is also controlled to create bigger waves. The height is determined based on the length and then divided carefully to create 4x8 pixels. The image below is from an Avengers collage that captures a lot of colors to see the changes in elevations based on color. The blocks extend out depending on the parameters of the color scale permitted.
- For 3 or More Units: Gonna Need Shades: The building below was created to create a gradient on the four walls. This is a two-story building that focuses the gradient on the second floor. In addition, the gradient is red at the suns location and moved to blue when it is away. The third image below shows that untouched building with shades. The image below shows the changes made to the building after considering the gradients. I removed the shades where the sun does not reach (in blue) and reduced the angle between the walls and the shades of the walls with most sun (in red).
- For 4 Units: Shield Your Eyes: This is a two story building that uses panels that are altred by the sun location. The second story is affected by the sun location. The first floor is not affected by the sun location. There is a visual change in reducing the panel openings where the sun hits the most. In turn, the panels with no sun have almost no openings at all. This is not ideal because we still want windows but the parameters can be changed to create a standard. Heights of the building plan can be changed as well as how much the buildings openings can be changed.
