GIVE ME A SHELTER

Stage 1: Modeling a Parametric Surface

Pictures of the Process

Result: After creating my surface, I used the function Trusses to define a grid with beams inside of the surface, also I used the function Quads, to add panels inside the mesh, and with an offset I got to show a layer above, while the trusses have a depth below, like an steel structure. Then I used the function “Pipe” to give a circular section to the beams of the mesh, and I defined an adequate radio for them. In the connection points of the mesh, I created spheres also, with an adequate radio.

Stage 2: Transforming my Geometry

Stage 3: Applying my form at different scales

  • Small Scale: My initial model was at small scale!
  • Large Scale:
  • To change the dimension of my original model, it was only needed to modify the initial coordinates of my control points, that at the same time, defined the curves, so giving adequate values, I got a bigger surface:

  • Medium Scale:
  • For medium scale, again I only changes the coordinates of my control points, especially the points at the ends of the curves. This time I also deleted one of the curves, simulating a simpler design with only 2 curves, and I got this result:
