Stage 1: Rise and Shine

Part 1

I started by defining an arc and then lofting it to get the wall surface, the required parameters can be modified and are indicated in scribble annotations above their respective sliders. I defined the square panels by taking the foot as a base unit and setting the u and v values to the current height and arc length values. You can scale the density of square panels by using my provided slider. I mapped my image to the panels by following the method outlined in the example.

Part 2

As above, the parameters requested in the module brief are indicated by text scribbles above their appropriate sliders. For this part, I first defined a modifiable line and then divided it to obtain points to transform with a cosine node and then replot. After lofting these curves to obtain the surface, I panelized them using the appropriate algorithms to get the desired ‘bricks’. After obtaining the image brightness values and remapping them to the desired inches range, I applied them to the panels in the form of y-extrusions.

Stage 2: Gonna Need Shades

Stage 3: Shield Your Eyes

  • A screenshot of your model geometry from each part of the assignment that you completed:
  • A few sentences describing your modeling approach for each stage
  • A brief description of your design outlining the parameters that can be used to flex and dynamically change your structure
