I am David Dunn, a Senior studying Architectural Design. I have limited industry experience where I interned at SOM’s New York office, very interesting work. It was more of a crash course in how to design a workplace. While I am not a huge fan of SOM’s designs, I am a fan of their emphasis on structural design. I have taken structural thinking into account for my post-SOM designs.
My favorite architects right now are Samuel Mockbee, Marlon Blackwell, and Tsien & Williams. I respect the work of Mass Design and Jeanne Gang. I want to open my firm one day and design community-based works primarily in the Southern United States.
Apart from architecture, I love singing, cooking, hiking, and coaching rowing. If I wasn’t an architect, then I would be a rowing coach and I would be happy, haha. I’m happiest when I sing for people, so I should really do it more often!
