Hi, my name is TaNia, and I graduated last June with my bachelor’s in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) with a focus area of design and mechanical behavior. I will be finishing my coterminal master’s degree this quarter also in MSE. I have completed several internships in the aerospace industry at SpaceX and NASA, most of which have focused on materials synthesis and chemistry with some work requiring navigating 3D models.
Upon graduation, I will be working full-time at a startup making the first artificial gravity space stations, and it’s possible that I may have to do work on the architectural design side or at least collaborate with industrial designers. This is one reason I chose to take this course. While I do have some experience from classes and clubs using SolidWorks, Fusion360, and OnShape, I would like to get exposure to using tools like Revit and Rhino and their applications. My goals are to be able to understand how to use parametric design to the extent I can apply it to my work outside of the course and to take advantage of opportunities to learn from the teaching team.
Outside of the classroom, I like dance and theater, trying new food spots, going on new adventures, writing poetry, and passively watching a new show while doing work.
