Part 1: Parametric Analysis of a Sample Conceptual Mass

For Part 1, I used the Twisting Rounded Triangular Tower Mass from the CEE 120C/220C shared library. For this tower mass, the following parametric parameters were set: Base Rotation, Base Radius, Top Rotation, Top Radius, and Top Height.

I chose to vary the Top Height, Top Rotation, and base Radius while holding other parameters constant to see how the Gross Floor Area, the Gross Surface Area, and the Volume were affected.

Part 2: Custom Rectangular Twisting Mass Form

In Part 2, I created a custom tower with three horizontal sections. The top and bottom sections were custom profiles with 2 curved edges and one straight edge, that allowed the radius and angle to be parametrically adjusted. The middle cross section was a triangle shape. For this custom tower mass, the following parametric parameters were set: Base Rotation, Base Radius, Top Rotation, Top Radius, and Top Height.

I chose to vary the Top Height, Top Rotation, and base Radius while holding other parameters constant to see how the Gross Floor Area, the Gross Surface Area, and the Volume were affected. This approach mirrored the approach taken in part 1.
