Point of View Statement

💡
Enter a refined POV statement that succinctly describes the essential user needs that you're designing a solution to provide. This will likely be based on your earlier POV statements, but may have evolved and updated based on your continued exploration and refining of your understanding of the problems throughout the Ideating phase of the design thinking process.

[A middle-aged father named Andrew] needs [a product that indicates if a food item is safe and healthy for consumption] because [he often purchases an excess amount of groceries and misses their expiration dates, leading to food being wasted.]

Minimum Viable Product

💡
Please add a very brief description of your product below. If you had to describe it in less than 10 words, what is it? Or what does it provide?.

Our product is a biodegradable label that changes color and texture according to the freshness of foods.

The simplest version of this product that delivers value and meets the challenges of this POV statement will have these essential features:

  • Biodegradable: our stickers can be composted and recycled
  • Color-changing: starts off with a green color when the food is fresh, changes to yellow when the food is near expiration, and changes to red when the food is completely inedible
  • Changes texture: similar to the color feature, the sticker starts smooth when the food is fresh and turns completely rough when the product becomes inedible
  • Time indicator (?): indicates the time left on a food product's freshness
