Key Findings from the Interview

  1. What does sustainability mean to you?
    1. Sustainable describes something that can be retained for a long period of time or forever. Something that will not run out or negatively affect its surrounding environment in the long run.
  2. What does the word “eco-consciousness” mean to you?
    1. I believe it simply means having awareness for your surroundings, that being our planet or simply your own environment like your town or city, and the consequences of your actions within your 'ecosystem'.
  3. Do you think your local community is doing well in being eco-conscious?
    1. Not really, in that there is a lot of disregard for systems that keep our area clean and disregard for actions that will affect the community. For example, in my compound there is a lot of littering or sometimes people park their cars in front of common areas. There is also lack of consideration on a larger scale when it comes to choosing more sustainable options like sorting their trash or taking public transport, as many opt out of them.
  4. If I told you that a space would be created with the aim to increase eco-conciousness would you be willing to support it? Why?
    1. I would be willing to support with time and effort, however not financially as I don't truly have a source of income to call my own, but I would like to support sustainability whenever I can so I can live a better future.
  5. What would you suggest the space be? Why?
    1. I don't really know what an eco-concious space is, but maybe a simple donation service or perhaps a local garden for the surrounding houses to support sustainable agriculture and reduce waste in the fashion industry.
