Key Findings from the Interview
- What does sustainability mean to you?
- To me, sustainability means to be able to be used for a long period of time, for example energy: fossil fuels cannot be used forever, but solar energy can be used forever, this is sustainability.
- However, sustainability can also mean using things that are good for the planet to make something else, because it helps the planet sustain its natural environment.
- What does the word “eco-consciousness” mean to you?
- To me, eco-conciousness means to be aware of the natural eco-systems of Earth and how it is being affected by the action of humans.
- Do you think your local community is doing well in being eco-conscious?
- Right now in London, I believe the city is doing well with being eco-concious. That is, it has these immensely large parks with just plain green fields and ancient trees. A reason that these trees are so thick and tall is because London has done a great job at preserving them.
- Example: Hyde Park
- However, London’s alleyways is also extremely disgusting. It is full of grime, and there is trash everywhere, so it really depends on where you go.
- If I told you that a space would be created with the aim to increase eco-conciousness would you be willing to support it? Why?
- Yes, I think it would be lovely that eco-conciousness would increase, because it is important for people to be aware of how they are affecting their planet.
- What would you suggest the space be? Why?
- I would suggest an interactive installation where the audience gets to see how not being eco-concious would affect the planet negatively.
