- Why you're interested in this course
I am interested in sustainable design because I believe “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” For the world to continue as it is, we need to be more sustainable. Taking more resources than could be replenished, polluting more than that can be assimilated into nature, and creating more than we need are all hurting future generations. I believe new technology is the best option to improve sustainability due to relatively fewer side effects and trade-offs such as those involved in policy-making. Moreover, I am also interested in this course because of my interest in civil engineering and architecture.
- Your goals for the course
My main goal for this course is to learn how we can design a more sustainable future. I wish to learn about novel ways of reducing energy usage in buildings and applications, creative ways to reduce waste, and biodegradable technologies. Overall, through this course, I hope I would learn to incorporate sustainability as a key element in my future designs.
