Problem Statement:
The kitchenette spaces in dorms are shared spaces that are not taken care of very well. Food is left to rot, dishes are left to pile up in sinks, and ants are often running along the counter tops. The combination of leftover food and dishes can result in the already small space feeling even more cramped and less welcoming. All of these factors compound to make the kitchenettes unsanitary and frustrating for the students that use and care about the maintenance of the space.

Before
Deciding to make food:
Maybe I should make food this time, instead of ordering. Probably better for me anyway.
Buying cooking supplies:
I’ve only got to buy a few things in order to make food tonight. Hopefully, the rest of the stuff is already in the kitchenette.
During
Setting up:
Where are all the supplies? I thought they were supposed to be here. Guess I’ll have to do with what I’ve got.
Making Food:
Cooking is fun with my friends, I wish we could all work together. Looks like the food is going to be delicious, I can’t wait to eat!
Cleaning Up:
That food was great! Now it’s time to clean up. Well… maybe I can just leave the dishes to soak. All of my friends are starting up a game. I will definitely finish cleaning them tomorrow.
After
Immediately After:
It was nice having something home cooked. But it’s a lot of work. Maybe we can just order something next time.
Long Term:
Why is the kitchenette always dirty? How am I supposed to cook with all of these messes to take care of first? Do the dishes always have to be in the sink?
