Please add to our community thinking by posting a few inspirational analogies of your own between the systems that you typically find in biological organisms and similar systems that we often (or should) find in buildings.

Think creatively about all the systems and features that allow creatures to survive, thrive, and adapt to their environments!

An analogy that came to my mind is the skeleton. The skeleton is the basically the structural system of the body the same as the framing is the structural system of a building. On the same note, the skin can be characterized as the facade of the body. Similar how the bones keep the stability of the body and help it maintain a balance and the skin act as a shield from the environment, the framing of the structure maintains the structural integrity and stability of a building and the facade protects it from the environment.
