Something I’m thinking about for my design is for entering the space to be an experience for the visitors. I imagine that the entryway could require visitors to walk or be transported a short distance to it, while being surrounded by local plants and landscaping.

I also think that the outside of the building should be distinctive. The most memorable museum experiences for me are ones that take an unconventional architectural approach. I think that something too sleek or modern could take away from an emphasis on sustainable energy and living. I want people to be reminded of what they are protecting by being more sustainable.
Additionally I want there to be as many windows as possible in the building, again in order to emphasize the natural environment and let in sunlight. I think that skylights in particular could help the space feel bright and airy.
As for the technical aspects of the building, I think I would like it to be net-zero and LEED certified.
