Introduction

Advances in construction, engineering, and architectural computer programs have allowed twisted tower building architecture to thrive, but it has necessitated a fundamental rethinking of tall buildings. Thinking has shifted as architects and customers seek new ways to differentiate their structures. Twisted tall buildings that were previously prohibitively expensive or physically impossible to construct are now possible thanks to advances in materials, engineering, and architectural software. Because twisted tall buildings can save energy, an increasing number of them are being planned worldwide. As a result, it would be an ideal location to develop a tool that assists designers, who are our intended users, in calculating the cost and solar gains of their twisted buildings.

Overview

The Easy Twisted Tower Estimator helps the user to access an estimation of the cost and the solar insolation values of a twisted tower, based on the following inputs provided by the user:

  1. Number of Sides
  2. Base Profile Radius
  3. Middle Profile Radius
  4. Top Profile Radius
  5. Mid Profile Rotation
  6. Top Profile Rotation
  7. Top Height
  8. Story Height
  9. Value at Lowest Level
  10. Value at Highest Level

The tool will compute the Cost Estimate, the Solar Insolation Estimate, and the Cost Per Insolation with all the information provided.
