Module 4 - Points to Ponder

What types of building information are best portrayed in 3D views?

Both customers and contractors require 2D views. For both stakeholders, a 2D view allows for easy and accessible overview of different areas of the house. The owner can picture what the living space will look like while the contractor can schedule the planning.

Should your design ideas always be conveyed through photorealistic renders?

With a rendered view compared to a ‘unrendered’ view, we have more detail and a more convincing view of the house. The owner can really imagine themselves living there. This can convince them of the design and potentially accepting it.

How can schedule views be used to assist with procurement and model-based estimating?

The schedules are precise and organized. They give you the type of walls, door, windows, etc. which can be an expensive asset for the house. It is important that we create a precise estimate of these materials to decrease potential reorders.
