For this milestone, I have decided to lay out the form of my mass and the rough skeleton that will hold all of my desired program. It will be layered with three floors, with the first floor being the largest and the third the smallest. The building will mostly be south facing which will hold more program that will benefit from ventilation and thermal comfort systems. The storage is on the north end of the building as it does not need as much attention to temperature gradients.

The orientation of the building allows for the best use of passive design while also maintaining a unique form and maximizing views throughout the space. The first floor is largely responsible for group interaction, welcome, storage, lobbies, gift shops, and garden spaces. The second-floor houses most of our exhibition and gallery spaces while offering stunning views. Office and learning spaces sit on the third most private floor with the best exterior views and comfort levels as people will spend the most time there.

The atrium has the most square footage in the building as I want it to serve as a greenhouse for the building merging life which is indoor and outdoor.
