In order to get my original ideas for the form of this structure, I created boxes the exact dimensions of shipping containers in another program called Rhino. This program allowed me to play around with how the shipping containers could be manipulated and stacked in a way that gave me a form that I thought would best fit into the site. My site can be seen below the iterations of my form.
The issues I am running into is the combination of using shipping containers as building material and integrating passive design and attempting to disturb as little nature as possible. It is difficult to combine the two because shipping containers are so module and rigid in structure. I am still currently attempting to come up with more forms, so my post will probably look different in the upcoming days. My next steps are to take these forms off of Rhino and into the programs we will be using for this class. Using Rhino is allowing me to be creative and come up with lots of iterations in the same project that can all be seen at once, so when I find a final form I am happy with I will move it over and have the dimensions I need to do so quickly.
