Patio and shading design idea, Center for Novel Therapeutics, San Diego
Natural lighting is important in my building design. However, during summer solar radiation would also be a big problem in my building design. So I get inspiration from the Center for Novel Therapeutics adding extra patios outside the building. It also is used for sun shading and natural ventilation.
Hallway & Natual Lighting, Center for Novel Therapeutics, San Diego
As we can see from the figure, there are plenty of meeting rooms in the hallway. It can get natural lighting from the glass curtain wall. Furthermore, this design of glass curtain provides the room enough natural lighting.
Stairway Center for Novel Therapeutics, San Diego
The stairways connect each level. People would feel comfortable when walking on the stairs because of the feature of natural lighting.
