The proposed design for the field station is a 20’x25’ single story building with ample work space for three researchers. The main room of the building is the work area, with three desks, an 8ft lab bench, and a communal whiteboard area for sharing ideas. In addition, there is an ADA-compliant bathroom and a large storage room. The southward face of the building features large windows in the workspace to allow natural light and heat into the main room of the building. The roof also features a large surface area to allow for the installation of photovoltaic panels.
