Key Parameters:

Creating Forms with Revit Conceptual Masses

💡
Point to Ponder: What’s the advantage of exporting the values to Excel?

The advantages of exporting the values to excel is that you don’t have to manually go through each and every iterations by hand. This not only saves you time but can also allow you to go through a large number of iterations to find the most optimum choice quickly.

Creating Forms with Dynamo or Grasshopper Geometry

💡
Point to Ponder: Which of these inputs tested has the biggest effect on creating a desirable building form?

Out of the tested inputs increasing the number of sides should be better as it increases the gross floor area at a higher rate than the gross surface area which is good for the building performance. Overall, Increasing the Base Radius has the best effect on creating the desirable building as not only does it increase the floor area but also does that at lower construction cost as the cost increases linearly with height.

Summarizing the Testing Results

💡
Point to Ponder: Which of these pairs of input values gives the most desirable result? Which building form would you recommend to the developer and why?

Mid Radius 95 and Number of Sides 9 gives the highest ratio which means it would maximize the gross floor area relative to the gross surface area which is one of the requirements.
