Your Recommendation for the “Best” Design Option
Enter a brief paragraph (5 to 7 sentences) outlining a brief explanation of why you chose this design option as the “best” after comparing your analyses of the proposals…
Option 1 has a V-shape profile, a modern take on the historical Flatiron Building in New York. Option 2 stacks the four floors in the shape of the letters TB to represent the branding of the client TwitBook. Option 3 is inspired by the Louvre Museum pyramid, however in this case the pyramid base has corners which slightly cantilever, overhanging the sides of the building’s top floor underneath. The design intent is to showcase creativity and simplicity in a modern corporate office. For sustainability purposes, I’ve chosen Option 1 due to its configuration being more conducive to daylighting as compared with the other two options, which positively influences energy savings, indoor environment and overall health and well-being to the individuals working inside. Also, the top of the “V” shape makes partial use of an enclosure due to the other building nearby, accompanied by the wind analysis below which shows that the wind draft would not be a major concern around most of the perimeter of the building.
