Prototyping Plan
For our first prototype we will sketch the 3 most important features of our library: the zen hut, the desks with the phone box that reminds users to take breaks and the treadmill/cycling desks.
Features details to help ideating our final prototypes
On the first Floor ( focuses on solo/individual):
Active Workstations: The Active Workstations will provide standing, treadmill, or bike desks that allow students to stay engaged in learning while remaining physically active.
- Inside the triangle room/ soundproof pod
- Have wheels and it can merged with other workstations
- Slidable Door
- Can merge with other workstations ( so can study with friends and become a conversational talking space)
- blinders included ( if no one it is transparent, else covered )
- Soundproof with acoustic panels
Phone Box: For each seat, there will be a phone box on the desk that periodically lights up, reminding you to take a break. The phone box will prevent users to get distracted from their phones as it will lock once the timer starts and it will open only for the breaks.
The box will also have engraved and printed images and written information explaining efficient studying methods such as active recall and the Pomodoro technique.

- wireless charges the phone
- Box has a timer mechanism that you could scroll and adjust for study and breaks
- Include an emergency switch to take it out
- Images shows 2 version of it; in use image and not in use image
Zen Huts: The 3 themed Zen Huts will be the perfect spaces where students can rediscover their mind pace, relax and meditate.
- There will be light pathways to guide you to the zen huts.
- 3 Themes:
- The Garden Zen Hut will feature plants, benches, and water fountains.
- The Beach Zen Hut will provide a serene experience with sand on the ground and the soothing sound of the sea
- The Meditation Zen Hut will feature guided meditation through thought-provoking questions on the walls, encouraging students to reflect on their academic journey in a modern art-inspired ambiance.
