Can you guarantee that the completed building will match the performance predicted by the analysis in its day-to-day operations?

You can’t guarantee that the building will match the performance that is predicted by the analysis, because things will change during the construction process changing the values that should have matched that of the analysis, but also because the analysis is based on perfect tolerance and dimensions, which is often not seen in the day-to-day building process.

How can you use Insight feedback to make design choices regarding materials, lighting, PV, etc.?

You can use the insight feedback to make design choices, because while the analysis will not be exactly what the building will be like when built, it does give a good approximation of what you are to expect performance-wise, allowing you to change and adapt your work/designs based on the feedback you receive.

What level of detail should be included in a 4D simulation?

I personally think that only integral parts of the design should be inputted into the 4D simulation, to keep it running smoothly and to ease the user interface, as you are more easily able to see the information that you need. You should however have all the categories and properties available so that you can selectively choose what you want to include in the 4D simulation. This thought was supported by our having to change the visibility graphics to only the elements we wanted to be shown in the 4D simulation before exporting.
