Journal Entry For
Project 1 - Testing Session 2
What did you observe?
What did you observe and note as you watched users interact with your prototypes?
- Note 1: Users were still confident that they would be able to easily navigate through an application providing the oil pick-up service. One of the testers actually mentioned that if users use Uber or Lyft they would pretty much be able to navigate an application that , in a similar manner, asks them to drop a pin to flag their location for our team to be able to easily locate them.
- Note 2: Some users questioned the point-based reward system. In particular how much oil would be needed to accumulate a certain number of points? Moreover, how many points would be needed to redeem each of the rewards expected by participants?
What feedback did your users share after the testing?
What feedback did your users share after they've had a chance to interact with and explore your prototypes?
- Feedback 1: Testers were very appreciative of the incentives program suggested. In fact, they noted that the versatility provided to the users when it comes to redeeming the points received against certain goods or services provides us with an edge against competition out there. They further added that this would attract different characters who are incentivised differently to participate in such a sustainable behavior.
- Feedback 2: Testers pointed out that there should be more transparency with the different users of the application when it comes how has their oil been used. For instance, how many gallons of bio-fuel was produced from their oil, how did their contribution reduce carbon emission, and how their continued participation could improve the environment on the long run. These metric and statistics among other would give users a sense of accomplishment and purpose that would encouraged future engagement.
