Framing Structure - Veronica Hernandez

Design Strategy

Taking into account that the model already had an architectural layout, the columns were allocated in areas where the design was not sacrificed. To achieve this, the initial columns created were not equidistant in both the x and y-axis but collocated near already existing structures such as exterior and interior walls, stairs, etc. The rest of the columns were planned to achieve structural stability and distributed in no more than 20ft between each other; some closer than others depending on the floor layout and equidistant in their respective axis.

All of the columns were established from Level 0 to Level 2 and made from Timber 20x20. The Beam system used was also of Timber Beams but of 12x14.
