For this exercise, I chose to use steel framing to minimize the number of columns since the steel frame can expand a longer distance than wood. I wanted to have fewer columns in order to make sure that the space would remain open. Also, I wanted to make sure that the stairs and shafts would not be in the way of the columns. As for the specific material, I ended up using the steel 10x49 columns and 12x26 beams.
After checking the model coordination view, nothing is blocked. However, there is a beam that is running through the second staircase that should be fixed.
